Young’s huge day leads #22 Wingate to sweep over UVA Wise

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University All-American middle blocker Maggie Young needed just 21 swings to pile up 17 kills Saturday afternoon, leading the #22 Bulldogs to a 3-0 victory over UVA Wise in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate moves to 11-2 overall and 4-1 in the SAC, while the Cavaliers fall to 7-6 overall and 2-5 in league play.

KEY STATS

- Wingate had 51 kills and just 10 errors in 110 attacks to hit .373
- UVA Wise had 29 kills and 15 errors in 108 swings, hitting .130
- The Bulldogs had eight of the 12 blocks on the day
- Wingate also had seven of the eight aces
