‘Dogs move to 2-0 in SAC play with 4-2 victory over Belmont Abbey

Clover, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored the first four goals of the day Friday afternoon, rolling to a 4-2 victory over Belmont Abbey College in South Atlantic Conference field hockey action at Field Day Park. Wingate improves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in league play, while the Crusaders fall to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the SAC.

- The Bulldogs took nine of the 16 penalty corners on the day

- Cordrey struck again 2:36 into the final frame
- Her second goal of the day and fourth of the week gave WU a 4-0 advantage
- Lainey Rogers got BAC on the board with 2:41 left in regulation
- Isabella Grasso scored in the final second to make the final margin 4-2
