Florence, S.C.----The Francis Marion University Patriots outscored visiting Wingate University 38-28 in the second half Saturday afternoon en route to a 78-65 victory in NCAA Division II women's basketball action. The Patriots improve to 1-1 on the season, while the Bulldogs fall to 0-2.

- Buckets from Oliver and Breedlove gave Wingate an early 8-4 lead
- FMU scored the next five, taking a 9-8 lead on a Trinity Delaney bucket
- A Kennedi Simmons triple at the 2:33 mark gave the Patriots a 15-11 lead
- Anderson's layup with a minute left cut the lead to two
- A Simmons three in the final seconds gave Francis Marion a 23-17 advantage
SECOND QUARTER
- Danielle Jackson's triple extended the FMU lead to seven
- Wingate scored the next nine, getting an Oliver triple and four Anderson points to take a 32-30 lead
- Francis Marion answered with a 7-0 run, taking a 37-32 lead on an Adams bucket with 1:34 to go
- A Mackenzie Feagin triple pushed the lead to six in the final minute
- Bacon's three-point play made it 40-37 heading to halftime
THIRD QUARTER
- Baraldi buried a triple three minutes into the second half to make it a one-point game
- Three Adams free throws at the 4:17 mark gave FMU a 54-47 lead
- An Oliver three helped the 'Dogs cut the lead back to two
- Free throws from Adams and Kiara Croskey made it 62-54 with 1:23 remaining
- A Simmons layup with 13 seconds left gave Francis Marion a 65-55 advantage
FOURTH QUARTER
- Buckets from Oliver and Beale pulled the 'Dogs within six early in the fourth
- A Kiana Lee triple capped a 7-0 run that gave FMU a 72-59 lead with 5:18 left
- A Simmons triple at the 2:18 mark pushed the lead to 16
- Wingate got no closer than 13 the rest of the way
