Quotables
Â
Wingate head cross country coachÂ
Pol Domenech:
Â
"The goal was to approach the race a little bit different than our conference race…and I am really happy about the way the women executed. We wanted to be a bit more patient and prepare for a hard final. We were ready for that final and we were able to put all our top five in the front 13. We are really proud of this accomplishment. The team is looking forward to sharpen up over the next two weeks."
Â
"I would be remiss if I didn't mention the huge Wingate crowd that came down to Spartanburg today. Without them, we are nothing, and I am so thankful to have this crew as part of our family. Regardless of the victories or trophies, what will forever remain in my memory is the sense of community that we have created."
Wingate senior cross country student-athlete
Mia Cabrera:
Â
"It was a very exciting race with some nerves, being my first semester as a transfer at Wingate and my first experience in a cross country regional. I am very happy and proud of the great result of all my teammates, they all did an incredible job. The most important thing is that we worked as a team. The weather was good…and the race course I liked because it did not have so much unevenness. I am happy to see the progression not only mine, but of all my teammates, as well as the incredible work of our coaches throughout this cross country season."
