Greenwood, S.C.----The 16th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs piled up 20 runs Friday afternoon, picking up a pair of dominant wins in NCAA Division II softball action. The 'Dogs started the day with a 10-1 win at Erskine, while capping the evening with a 10-2 victory at Lander to move to 10-3 overall, pushing their winning streak to eight.

GAME ONE | #16 WINGATE 10 ERSKINE 1 (5 Innings)

KEY STATS

- The 'Dogs had five of the seven extra-base hits including all three homers
- The Bulldogs left five on base; the Flying Fleet stranded four

- Liles followed with a two-run blast to left to put the 'Dogs on top by four

- Maness connected on a two-run shot to left to give Wingate a 6-0 lead

FOURTH INNING

- Liles led off the frame with a solo homer to give the 'Dogs a seven-run advantage

FIFTH INNING

- A Maness RBI double put Wingate on top 8-1
- Kahlich followed with an RBI double to plate Maness
- Kraemer's RBI single capped the scoring, giving the Bulldogs a 10-1 victory

WRAPUP

- Huneycutt got the win, moving to 3-0 on the year
- She allowed a run on three hits in four innings, striking out four
- Thomas struck out one in a scoreless fifth inning
- Payton Cox took the loss, allowing six runs on five hits in three innings of work

- She scored on Kale's RBI double to make it 4-1
- Brooks ripped an RBI triple to right center to give WU a four-run cushion
- Maness followed with a towering two-run shot to left center, making it 7-1

SIXTH INNING

- Raquel Camuglia led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo homer to make it 7-2

SEVENTH INNING

- Hobgood and Kale started the frame with back-to-back singles
- Maness lined an RBI single to plate Hobgood
- An error on the play allowed Kale and Maness to score, making the final margin 10-2

WRAPUP

- Scott got the win, moving to 4-1 on the year
- She allowed two runs on 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out five
- Cutcher retired all four batters she faced, striking out two
- Taylor Scott took the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits in six innings of work
