St. Augustine, Fla.----The 17th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs opened up the weekend in impressive fashion, taking down Flagler 4-0 and #17 Saint Leo 5-4 in NCAA Division II softball action on day one of the Old Coast Classic. Wingate moves to 6-3 overall while Flagler falls to 6-2 and Saint Leo moves to 4-1.

- Hobgood reached on an error, then moved to second on Kale's single
- An RBI single from Brooks plated Hobgood to make it 4-0

WRAPUP

- Scott got the win, moving to 2-1 on the year
- She allowed just four singles while striking out eight and walking one in the complete game
- Rachel Hester took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits in four innings of work

- Heaven Maness had a homer and two RBI to lead the offense

- Wingate did all its damage in the third inning
- Thomas led things off with a triple, then scored on an RBI single from Liles

- A Madyson Coe RBI single in the bottom of the frame got Saint Leo on the board

- Hailey Beuer's RBI single pulled the Lions within a run
- Saint Leo had the bases loaded with the tying run at third and winning run at second
- Raechel Cutcher struck out Briana Neal to end the game
