Salisbury, N.C.----The sixth-seeded Anderson University Trojans knocked off third-seeded Wingate University 74-55 in the opening round of the NCAA Southeast Regionals Friday afternoon in NCAA Division II women's basketball action. Anderson improves to 22-8 overall, while the Bulldogs end their season at 22-10.

FIRST QUARTER
- A Brittney Stafford triple gave the Trojans a 9-0 lead four minutes in
- A Clark three and Anderson layup cut the lead to six at 11-5
- Zamiya Passmore's layup with 1:13 remaining gave Anderson a 10-point lead
- Hege answered with a triple to make it 17-10
- Nelliah Wilson's layup with 45 seconds left put the Trojans on top 19-10
SECOND QUARTER
- Buckets from Breedlove and
Lauren Sullivan trimmed the lead to seven at 21-14
- Ashlyn Sheridan's layup at the 7:25 mark gave Anderson an 11-point advantage
- An Anderson jumper and Beale triple pulled Wingate to within six at 27-21
- AU scored the next six, taking a 33-21 lead on Wilson's layup with 1:50 to go
- Clark cut the lead to 10 with a layup with a minute remaining
- Wilson's layup with 21 seconds left gave the Trojans a 35-23 halftime advantage
THIRD QUARTER
- Two triples from Stafford gave Anderson a 43-25 lead with 7:40 to go
- WU scored the next nine, getting a Beale triple and four points from Beale to make it 43-34
- Passmore's jumper with three minutes left put AU back on top by 11
- Hege's jumper at the 2:40 mark made it 49-40
- A Sheridan triple with 41 seconds left pushed the lead back to 14
- Hege's free throw cut it to 13, but a Stafford jumper at the buzzer put AU on top 59-44
FOURTH QUARTER
- Wingate scored the first seven points of the fourth to cut the lead to eight
- Hege started the frame with a triple, while two Breedlove buckets made it 59-51
- The 'Dogs would go scoreless over the next five minutes as AU built the lead back to 13
- A Diamond McDowell layup with 3:53 remaining pushed the lead back to 15 at 66-51
