Newberry, S.C.----The 16th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs scored 12 of the final 14 goals of the game Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 17-6 victory at Newberry College in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action. The Bulldogs move to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the SAC, while the Wolves fall to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in league play. The contest was a rematch of last year's SAC championship game.

FIRST QUARTER
- Wilgeroth found the back of the net 29 seconds in
- Watson scored off a Blakely assist to make it 2-0 at the 11:34 mark
- Jadie Burns got Newberry on the board, but Fuchs responded off a Blakely assist to make it 3-1
- The Wolves got a Trysten Burns goal at the 2:28 mark to cut the lead to one
- Knowles won the ensuing draw control and scored 10 seconds later to make it 4-2
SECOND QUARTER
- Serena Elias scored a minute into the frame to pull Newberry back within one
- Wilgeroth's goal made it 5-3 at the 11-minute mark, but Heather Johnston pulled NC back within one
- The Bulldogs answered by scoring the next three goals
- Knowles scored the first two in a 45-second span to make it 7-4
- Fuchs scored at the 3:56 mark to put the 'Dogs on top by four
- Ella Todd cut the lead to three with a goal with 2:38 remaining, making it 8-5 heading to halftime
THIRD QUARTER
- Wingate scored the first six goals of the third quarter to take a 14-5 lead
- Fuchs started it with a goal 65 seconds in, while Watson struck next off a Fuchs assist
- Knowles scored at the 11:43 mark off a Wilgeroth assist to make it 11-5
- Knowles struck again off a Watson assist to push the lead to seven
- Solero capped the spurt with back-to-back goals to put the 'Dogs on top by nine at the 3:53 mark
- Elias scored Newberry's only goal of the second half with 57 seconds left in the third
FOURTH QUARTER
- Watson scored off a Wilgeroth assist two minutes in to give the Bulldogs a 15-6 lead
- Watson struck again off a Knowles assist with 10 minutes left to push the lead to 10
- Garvin capped the scoring at the 8:12 mark, making the final margin 17-6
