Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs opened the three-game weekend series with a 12-4 victory over Anderson University in South Atlantic Conference baseball action Friday evening at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. Wingate improves to 12-7 overall and 5-2 in the SAC, while the Trojans fall to 11-8 overall and 4-6 in league play.

- A JC LeGrand RBI triple and Mac Ketchin RBI single gave the Trojans a 3-1 lead
- Wingate answered with six runs in the bottom of the frame

- Williams-Rhem reached on an error, allowing Clark to score to tie it at three

- Barnett connected on a three-run bomb to left, making it 7-3
THIRD INNING
- Ishmael started the inning with a double, followed by a Clark walk
- Hart's RBI single plated Ishmael to push the lead to five
- A sacrifice fly from Williams-Rhem gave the Bulldogs a 9-3 advantage
FOURTH INNING
- Barnett led off the frame with a single, then stole second
- Adams connected on a two-run shot to right to push the lead to eight
SIXTH INNING
- Harris led off the inning with a triple
- He scored on a Barnett sacrifice fly, making it 12-3
WRAPUP
- Hoover got the win, moving to 4-0 on the year
- He allowed three runs on six hits in six innings, striking out two
- Morton notched his first save, allowing a run on four hits in three innings, striking out two
