Jefferson City, Tenn.----Wingate University senior guard
Kendall Taylor led five players in double figures with 25 points Saturday afternoon, as the Bulldogs outscored Carson-Newman University 49-31 in the second half en route to a big 87-73 victory in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. Wingate improves to 7-7 overall and 6-6 in the SAC, while the Eagles fall to 13-6 overall and 8-5 in league play.

- A Braden Ilic bucket at the 8:27 mark put the Eagles back on top 23-21
- Back-to-back Grant buckets gave the lead back to the 'Dogs
- An Erbeck triple and Hall three-point play gave Wingate a 31-26 lead with five minutes left
- Brenegan capped a 6-0 run with a layup to give C-N a 38-35 lead at the 1:42 mark

SECOND HALF
- Ilic buried a three on the opening possession to give Carson-Newman a seven-point lead
- Wingate scored the next six, with Hall's dunk cutting the lead to one at 45-44
- The 'Dogs used an 8-0 run to take a 55-50 lead, getting threes from Miller and Erbeck
- An Ousmane Dia layup at the 13:40 mark pulled Carson-Newman back within three
- A Miller jumper and Pack triple put the 'Dogs on top 62-54
