GRAND SLAM! No. 2 Wingate rallies for fourth 2025-26 victory in Noble Memorial

Dahlonega, Ga.----The No. 2 Wingate University women's golf team rallied from an eight-stroke deficit to take a six-shot triumph over No. 5 Anderson in the 12th annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial Tuesday. The Bulldogs posted a new school-record, 54-hole score of 15-under-par 849. Wingate had a nine-under-par 279 Tuesday to earn its fourth victory this semester. The University of North Georgia hosted this event at the Achasta Golf Club.
 
Sophomores Meinecke and Bochaton finish second and third, respectively
 
Sophomores Olivia Meinecke and Amely Bochaton finished second and tied for third, respectively. Meinecke shot a career-low, eight-under-par 208. She equalled her career-best low round Tuesday with her four-under-par 68. Bochaton birdied her first five holes Tuesday on the way to a six-under-par 66. She completed 54 holes at six-under-par 210.
 
Senior Lauren Sutcliffe and sophomore Haley Paramore both recorded career-low, 54-hole scores this week. Sutcliffe concluded the tourney with a one-over-par 217. She sandwiched two 73s around a second-round 71. Paramore had a three-over-par 219. She shot an even-par 72 Tuesday.
 
Senior Thalia Perez-Vieco had a 75 Tuesday to finish 54 holes at six-over-par 222. In her Wingate debut, freshman Mary Elizabeth Harrison improved her score each round. She shot a three-over-par 75 Tuesday. Harrison played the LeeAnn Noble Memorial as an individual.
 
Taking one last glance at the leader boards
 
Anderson sophomore Olivia Pellerin won the Noble Memorial with her 10-under-par 206. Second-round leader and Pellerin's Anderson teammate Aly Francis shot a three-over-par 75 Tuesday to fall back into a tie with Wingate's Bochaton for third place at six-under-par 210.
 
No. 10 Lee finished third at five-under-par 859, 10 shots behind the triumphant Wingate Bulldogs. Wingate, Anderson and Lee were the only squads in the 16-team field to finish the 54-hole event under par.

Wingate concludes the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule Monday and Tuesday, October 27-28 with the Currahee Elite Invitational in Toccoa, Georgia. Anderson University is hosting this event at the Currahee Golf Club.
