Bulldogs roll to 77-46 win over Mount Olive in home opener

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs had four players score in double figures Monday night, cruising to a 77-46 victory over the University of Mount Olive in NCAA Division II women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate moves to 2-1 overall, while the Trojans fall to 0-1.

- A McAfee triple cut the lead to 11 at 52-41 with 3:24 remaining
- Buckets from Shorma, Bacon and Chavis gave Wingate a 58-41 advantage
- McAfee's layup at the buzzer made it 58-43 heading to the final frame

FOURTH QUARTER

- Jackson's layup 11 seconds in pulled the Trojans within 13
- The Bulldogs scored the next 19 points over the next six minutes to extend the lead to 32
- Shorma had eight straight points in the flurry, making it 68-45 at the 6:42 mark
- A layup and triple from Hughes, along with a Michela Jones layup made it 75-45
- A Jones layup at the 3:47 mark capped the 19-0 run, making it 77-45 with 3:47 remaining
