Hickory, N.C.----Trailing by 14 points with seven minutes to go, the Wingate University Bulldogs fought all the way back to tie it in the final seconds, but the Lee University Flames got a layup with one second left to prevail 83-81 in NCAA Division II men's basketball action. Lee moves to 2-0 on the year, while the Bulldogs fall to 2-1 overall.

- A Jamarcus Wilkins jumper with seven minutes to go gave the Flames a 78-64 lead
- WU scored the next nine, getting six points from Godley and a Lingo three to make it 78-73
- Gray's three-point play gave Lee an eight-point cushion with 3:42 to go
- Free throws from Lingo, Miller and Godley pulled the 'Dogs within two at 81-79 with 2:13 left
- Vick was fouled with 13 seconds left and made both free throws, tying it at 81
- Anderson had the answering, with the game-winning layup with a second left
