Bulldogs close out regular season with 1-0 victory over Coker

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs closed out the regular season in style Wednesday night, prevailing 1-0 over visiting Coker University in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action at Pride Park. The Bulldogs improve to 3-8-3 overall and 3-4-3 in the SAC, while the Cobras fall to 3-3-7 overall and 3-4-3 in league play.

- The Bulldogs held an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal
- The 'Dogs took four of the seven corner kicks

- He ripped a free kick from just outside the box into the upper left corner to make it 1-0
 
SECOND HALF

- The Cobras held a 9-5 edge in shots in the final 45 minutes
- Gibbs came up with a save in the 88th minute to secure the victory
 
UP NEXT

- Wingate will be on the road for the SAC Tournament opener
- The Bulldogs will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday
- The quarterfinal contest is slated to start at 7:30 p.m.
- The winner advances to the semifinals Friday in Matthews at 5 p.m.
- The championship match will be Sunday at 4 p.m. in Matthews
