Eagles halt Wingate’s six-game winning streak

Wingate, N.C.----The Carson-Newman University Eagles knocked down 14 threes Saturday afternoon en route to a 76-59 victory in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. The Eagles improve to 19-6 overall and 16-5 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 16-8 overall and 15-5 in league play. The Bulldogs were celebrating Play4Kay Day, raising money for the fight against cancer while also recognizing cancer survivors in attendance Saturday afternoon.

- Carson-Newman shot 54 percent from the field, going 14-for-30 from three-point range (47 percent)
- Wingate shot 40 percent from the field connecting on two-of-15 from deep (13 percent)
