Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs outscored visiting Newberry College 33-21 in the second half Wednesday night en route to a 60-40 victory in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate wins its fourth straight, moving to 14-7 overall and 13-4 in the SAC, while the Wolves fall to 5-17 overall and 4-14 in league play.

Anna Baraldi buried a triple two minutes in to give the 'Dogs a 14-13 lead
- Wingate used a 9-2 run to take a 25-17 advantage at the 3:19 mark
- Buckets from Ekperigha and
Kylie Chavis started the spurt; Ekperigha's triple capped the run
- A Tomkins jumper with 1:40 to go trimmed the lead to six
- Oliver's bucket 30 seconds later gave the 'Dogs a 27-19 halftime lead
THIRD QUARTER
- A Julia Paoletta jumper three minutes in pulled Newberry within five at 31-26
- Ella Pearson and Paoletta knocked down threes to make it a three-point game at 35-32
- Wingate countered with an 11-0 run to end the quarter, starting with a Bacon layup and Massey triple
- An Ekperigha three and Anderson layup in the final 100 seconds put the 'Dogs on top 46-32
FOURTH QUARTER
- Anderson's layup at the 6:57 mark gave the Bulldogs a 48-33 advantage
- Layups from Bacon and Beale stretched the lead to 18 with 3:03 remaining
- Newberry got no closer than 16 the rest of the way
