Monroe, N.C.----The eighth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs went 5-1 in singles play Wednesday afternoon, picking up a 5-2 victory over Lees-McRae College in NCAA Division II women's tennis action. The Bulldogs open the season 1-0, while the Bobcats fall to 1-1 overall.

DOUBLES

- Chloe Kosmrlj teamed with Daniela Kotara for a 6-1 win at two doubles
- Lees-McRae prevailed at one and three doubles to claim the point
- The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Kosmrlj prevailed 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 at one singles
- Fernanda Castillo won 7-5, 6-4 at two singles
- Suzuka Sambyakugari picked up a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory at three singles
- Gigi Hinson rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at five singles
- Kotara notched a 6-2, 6-4 win at six singles
