Wingate, N.C.----The fifth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs erased an early six-goal deficit Wednesday night, tying it twice in the fourth quarter, but #20 Newberry College scored the winner with 2:52 to go, prevailing 14-13 in South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Irwin Belk Stadium and Founders Field. Newberry improves to 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in league play.

- Colby Rodgers won the ensuing faceoff and scored five seconds later to make it 6-2
SECOND PERIOD
- Jonny Maclean scored four minutes in to give the Wolves an 8-2 advantage
- Goss scored off a Clark assist at the 8:57 mark to cut the lead to five
- Spence scored with five minutes to go, making it 8-4
- A Moran goal off Clark's assist with 3:10 remaining made it 8-5 at halftime
THIRD PERIOD
- Clark scored off a Goss assist five minutes into the half to make it a two-goal game
- Spence struck again a minute later, making it 8-7
- Gage Vigar and Liam Vollans scored in an 11-second span to put Newberry on top by three
- Clark answered with a goal off Moran's assist, making it 10-8 with 3:53 remaining
- Butrico scored at the 1:13 mark to make it a one-goal game
FOURTH PERIOD
- Goss scored off Clark's assist in the opening minute, tying it at 10
- Maclean answered with 12:49 to go, putting the Wolves back on top
- Grant's goal tied it at 11 with 10:51 remaining
- Goals from Vigar and Williams gave Newberry a 13-11 lead with 6:57 to go
