Salisbury, N.C.----Hannah Stevens and Savanna Brooks combined for five homers and 11 RBI Thursday afternoon, leading the Wingate University Bulldogs to a doubleheader sweep at Catawba College in South Atlantic Conference softball action. Wingate won the opener 10-2 in five innings, while prevailing 8-5 in game two to improve to 18-14 overall and 9-1 in the SAC, while the Indians fall to 12-16 overall and 2-6 in league play.

GAME ONE | WINGATE 10 CATAWBA 2 (5 Innings)

- Brooks unloaded on a grand slam to put the 'Dogs on top 6-2
- Lily Huneycutt was then hit by a pitch
- Stevens followed with a two-run blast to extend the lead to six
- An error and Kramer single put runners on the corners
- Scott scored on a wild pitch to make it 9-2

THIRD INNING

- Brooks connected on a solo homer to give Wingate a 10-2 advantage

WRAPUP

- Thomas got the win, moving to 9-5 on the year
- She allowed two runs on two hits in three innings, striking out one and walking one
- Alex Baquie took the loss, allowing eight runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings
