Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs needed just 10 innings to sweep Wednesday afternoon's South Atlantic Conference softball doubleheader, rolling to a pair of victories over Coker University. The Bulldogs took game one 12-2, while prevailing 9-1 in game two to improve to 23-15 overall and 12-2 in the SAC. The Cobras fall to 8-22 overall and 1-11 in league play.

- Scott's three-run homer put the 'Dogs on top 6-0
THIRD INNING
- Hobgood and McFadden started the inning with back-to-back singles
- A Brooks sacrifice fly extended the lead to seven
- Kramer followed with an RBI double to make it 8-0
FOURTH INNING
- A bases-loaded walk and Lacey Hennes RBI single cut the lead to six
- Wingate answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame
- Davis started it with a single, then moved to second on a Burns sacrifice
- Hobgood's RBI single made it 9-2
- McLaurin crushed a three-run homer to center to give Wingate a 12-2 advantage
WRAPUP
- Thomas got the win, moving to 11-6 on the year
- She allowed just two hits in three shutout frames, striking out three without a walk
- Madie Andrews took the loss, allowing eight run on nine hits in two innings of work
