Newberry, S.C.----Sean Clark scored midway through the second overtime Saturday night, giving 12th-ranked Wingate University a thrilling 12-11 victory at #13 Newberry in the quarterfinals of the 2025 South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse tournament. Wingate improves to 12-4 overall, advancing to the SAC Tourney semifinals, while the Wolves fall to 10-7 on the season.

FIRST PERIOD
- Clark started the scoring off a Spence assist at the 8:14 mark
- Butrico scored a minute later off a Dorr assist to give the 'Dogs a two-goal lead
- Butrico scored again with 19 seconds left off an assist from Williams
- Grant's goal 14 seconds later gave the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead
SECOND PERIOD
- Newberry scored twice in the first three minutes, making it 4-2 on an Ace Nichols goal
- Spence's goal at the 12:20 mark pushed the lead back to three
- A Gage Vigar goal with 7:11 to go made it a one-goal game
- Goss scored off a Spence assist a minute later to make it 6-4
- Clark scored off a Papach assist with 2:28 goal to give Wingate a three-goal cushion
THIRD PERIOD
- Vigar scored four minutes into the half to cut the lead to two
- Spaeth won the ensuing face-off and scored six seconds later to make it 8-5
- Newberry scored the next three, tying it at eight on an Ayden Snow goal at the 5:36 mark
- Moran put the 'Dogs back on top with a goal 31 seconds later
- Clark's goal with 2:49 to go gave the Bulldogs a 10-8 lead
- Derek Caiazzo goal a minute later cut the lead back to one
FOURTH PERIOD
- Scott Williams scored two minutes into the final frame to tie it at 10
- Snow's goal at the 4:21 mark gave the Wolves their first lead of the night
- Moran scored the equalizer with 1:12 to go off a Spence assist, making it 11-11
- Moran had a chance to win it, but his shot on frame with six seconds left was saved
OVERTIME
- Butrico put a shot on goal midway through the frame that was turned away
- Goss also put a shot on frame in the final minute that was saved
SECOND OVERTIME
- Wingate forced a Newberry turnover early in the second overtime
- Clark netted the game-winning goal with 2:31 remaining to give the 'Dogs the victory
