Wingate, N.C.----The top-seeded Wingate University Bulldogs are on to the SAC tournament championship round after piling up 11 runs on 14 hits in an 11-1 victory over Mars Hill University on day two of the South Atlantic Conference softball tournament. The 'Dogs improve to 35-19 on the year, sweeping the best-of-three series to advance to next week's SAC championships, which will take place at Wingate. Mars Hill ends its season at 22-24.

- Davis blasted her first career homer, a two-run shot to left center to push the lead to four

- Scott led off the inning with a solo shot to left center to put the 'Dogs on top 5-0

- McFadden led off the frame with a double, then scored on a Stevens RBI double
- Singles from Scott and Burns loaded the bases
- McLaurin's RBI single extended the lead to eight
- Dudley's RBI single made it 9-0
- Brooks followed with a sacrifice fly
- Bryan's RBI double gave the Bulldogs an 11-0 advantage

- Scott got the win, moving to 7-5 on the year
- She tossed six shutout frames, allowing four singles while striking out six
