Wingate, N.C.----The second-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears prevailed 3-2 over top-seeded Wingate University in the championship game of the South Atlantic Conference softball tournament Saturday afternoon. LR improves to 36-27 on the season, while Wingate falls to 37-21 overall.

- Hobgood drew a walk, bringing the go-ahead run to the plate
- A strikeout and flyout ended the contest
WRAPUP
- Madison Wilson got the win, allowing six hits in five shutout frames, striking out three
- Faith Carrigan earned the save, allowing two runs on two hits in two innings of work
- Scott took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in six innings, striking out six
