#9 Bulldogs rally past Crusaders for 12-10 victory

Belmont, N.C.----The ninth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs scored the final four goals of the day Saturday afternoon en route to a 12-10 victory at Belmont Abbey College in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse action. Wingate moves to 2-1 on the year, while the Crusaders fall to 2-2 overall.

- Grant scored in the final minute to put the 'Dogs on top 3-2

SECOND PERIOD

- Butrico scored three minutes in to stretch the lead to two
- Belmont Abbey scored the next five, taking a 7-4 lead on a Brendan Boschi goal with 19 seconds left
- Cottage won the ensuing face-off, leading to Butrico's goal off a Moran assist with one second to go

THIRD PERIOD

- The Bulldogs scored the first three goals of the second half to take the lead
- Spence started the scoring off a Moran assist two minutes in
- Butrico's goal with eight minutes left tied it at seven
- Spence scored two minutes later off a Moran assist to give the 'Dogs an 8-7 advantage
- Boschi scored in the final minute to tie it at eight heading to the fourth

FOURTH PERIOD

- Boschi scored just over a minute into the final frame to put the Crusaders back on top
- Garren Berkman's goal at the 9:37 mark gave Belmont Abbey a 10-8 lead
- Grant scored a minute later, pulling the Bulldogs back within one
- Clark's goal 53 seconds later off a Spence assist tied it at 10
- Spence put the 'Dogs on top with a goal at the 3:07 mark
- Moran scored a minute later, giving the Bulldogs a two-goal cushion
