Charlotte, N.C.----The two-time defending national champion University of Tampa Spartans outscored #13 Wingate 6-2 in the third quarter Saturday afternoon en route to a 17-11 victory in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action at the Crown Classic. The Spartans improve to 5-1 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 5-2 on the season.

- Jones scored two minutes in to give Wingate an early lead
- Tampa scored the next three, taking a 3-1 lead on a Jill Cobaugh goal at the 7:02 mark

- Glover scored the first two in the flurry, tying it at three with two minutes left
- Knutson scored in the final minute to give the Bulldogs a 4-3 advantage
SECOND QUARTER
- Benner's goal 70 seconds into the second gave Wingate a two-goal advantage
- The Spartans scored the next four, taking a 7-5 lead on a Sia Markowski goal with 4:33 to go
- Solero scored a minute later to cut the lead to one
- Peyton Howell scored with 38 seconds left, pushing the lead back to two
- Slayton scored with nine seconds remaining, making it 8-7 at halftime
THIRD QUARTER
- Tampa scored four times in the first five minutes, taking a 12-7 lead on an Isabella Avila goal
- Goals from Solero and Butler pulled the 'Dogs back within three with 4:38 to go
- Mary Kate Person scored twice in the final four minutes to give Tampa a 14-9 lead
FOURTH QUARTER
- Person's goal three minutes in stretched the lead to six
- Jones scored at the 11:17 mark, making it 15-10
- Glover capped the scoring for the 'Dogs at the 3:33 mark
