Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs notched their second victory over a top-20 team of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, prevailing 8-2 over Shippensburg University in game two of Sunday's NCAA Division II softball doubleheader. The Raiders prevailed 13-6 in game one on Sunday. The Bulldogs move to 10-6 overall, while Shippensburg goes to 3-1 on the season.

GAME ONE | #19 SHIPPENSBURG 13, WINGATE 6

- Higginbotham put the 'Dogs back on top with an RBI single

- Solo homers from Gianna Cimino and Sabocsik gave Shippensburg a 6-5 advantage

SIXTH INNING

- Shippensburg scored five runs with two outs in the sixth inning
- The first two runs scored on a Wingate error
- An RBI double from Rilee Ehrlacher made it 9-6
- Lindsey Haser added a two-run single to give the Raiders a five-run cushion

SEVENTH INNING

- A Leah Schwalm sacrifice fly started the scoring in the seventh inning for the Raiders
- Ehrlacher added an RBI single, making it 13-6

WRAPUP

- Dani Hayward got the win, allowing six runs on nine hits in seven innings, striking out five
- Lily Huneycutt took the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings, striking out one

- Murray came through with a two-out, three-run double to right center to make it 6-2
- Dudley followed with an RBI double to stretch the lead to five
- Patterson followed with another RBI double, putting the 'Dogs on top 8-2

WRPAUP

- Robbins got the win, allowing two hits in four shutout frames, striking out six
- Thomas got the save, allowing two runs on six hits in three innings, striking out two
- Mya Parkinson took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits in three innings
