#13 Wingate cruises to 17-1 victory at Mars Hill

Mars Hill, N.C.----The 13th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs scored the first 13 goals Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 17-1 victory at Mars Hill University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action. The Bulldogs improve to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the SAC, while the Lions fall to 3-6 overall and 0-5 in league play.

FIRST QUARTER

- Garvin started the scoring 48 seconds in
- Jones scored 50 seconds later, then assisted on a Solero goal 32 seconds after that
- Fuchs scored at the 11:57 mark to make it 4-0
- Glover scored off a Benner assist 40 seconds later
- Slatyon's goal with 6:15 to go stretched the lead to seven
- Jones scored with four minutes left to make it 8-0
- Glover's goal off a Knutson assist with 45 seconds remaining gave WU a nine-goal cushion

SECOND QUARTER

- Buckmaster scored 14 seconds into the second quarter off Benner's assist
- Glover scored off Parnell's assist 42 seconds later to make it 11-0
- Glover struck again at the 10:43 mark off an Allen assist
- Slayton's goal with 42 seconds remaining put the 'Dogs on top 12-0 at halftime

THIRD QUARTER

- Glover started the scoring just over two minutes into the second half off a Benner assist
- Slayton scored 90 seconds later, extending the advantage to 14

FOURTH QUARTER

- Benner scored at the 10:44 mark to make it 15-1
- Solero's goal three minutes later pushed the lead to 15
- Slayton capped the scoring with 3:05 remaining
