Molly Lambillotte has announced the hiring of Maggie Young as the assistant coach. Young had a standout career at Wingate University, then spent time on the coaching staff at Gardner-Webb University, the University of Tulsa and the University of North Carolina.
"Being able to come back to Wingate as the assistant coach is such an incredible honor," Young says. "It is an absolute privilege to have the opportunity to give back to the program that gave me so much, and I am grateful every day to help impact and uphold the championship culture. GO BULLDOGS!!
Young put together one of the best careers in the history of Wingate or SAC volleyball. She helped lead the Bulldogs to five regular season SAC titles, three SAC Tournament championships and a region title. "As one of the most decorated student-athletes in WUVB history, she understands the tradition and standards of this program and brings an incredible combination of volleyball knowledge, joy, and relentless drive that reflects what it takes to win at a high level. Maggie's character and values perfectly align with our mission of developing great people while continuing the winning tradition of Wingate Volleyball. I believe Wingate is a better place with Maggie here."
