CHAMPS! No. 5 ’Dogs complete dominant run, win SAC title with perfect match play effort

Greenville, S.C.----The No. 5 Wingate University men's golf team capped off a dominant week at the South Atlantic Conference championship, sweeping through match play to secure the SAC title inside The Preserve at Verdae layout Tuesday.
 
After winning the stroke play portion by nine shots, the Bulldogs carried that momentum into match play, defeating Anderson 4.5-0.5 in the semifinals before closing out the championship with a commanding 5-0 victory over No. 16 Lincoln Memorial in the final.

- Senior Lewis Beeden, the No. 1 ranked player in the nation, set the tone early
- Beeden won his match 3-up, recording three birdies
- Sophomore Brandon Skidmore delivered a dominant performance
- Skidmore won 7-up with four birdies
