Monroe, N.C.----The 22nd-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears knocked off 11th-ranked Wingate University 4-2 Wednesday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis action. The Bears improve to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 13-5 overall and 8-2 in league play.  

DOUBLES

- Anastasia Oktiabreva and Daniela Kotara prevailed 6-3 at one doubles
- LR won 6-2 at two and three doubles to claim the point
- Lenoir-Rhyne took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Claudia Vallejos won 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 at one singles
- Oktiabreva prevailed 6-3, 7-6 at two singles
- The Bears picked up wins at three, five and six singles to claim the victory
- Hanomi Wantanbe won set one 7-6 at four singles, then was tied 2-2 in the third after dropping set two 6-3
