IWLCA All-Region Teams
Northborough, Mass.----The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced the All-Region teams Tuesday afternoon, with the SAC regular season and tournament champion Wingate University Bulldogs collecting a program-record six All-Region honorees.
Kathryn McCabe,
Stacy Glover and
Madison Slayton are first team All-Region selections, with
Krysta Churns,
Deirdre Jones and
Sophie Pavlick collecting second team accolades.
McCabe is the back-to-back SAC Defensive Player of the Year, earning first team all-conference accolades in each of her first two seasons at Wingate. She is an All-Region selection for the second straight year, also collecting All-American accolades in 2025. McCabe has piled up 94 draw controls and 49 caused turnovers on the year, adding 60 ground balls. She has anchored a WU defense that leads the nation in caused turnovers per game, ranking third in scoring defense. McCabe leads the SAC in CTs while ranking third in ground balls and draw controls. She is ninth nationally in caused turnovers, 11th in ground balls and 20th in draw controls.
Glover adds first team All-Region accolades to her huge freshman season, earning SAC Freshman and Attacker of the Year to go along with first team All-SAC accolades. The freshman poured in a program-record 73 goals in 2026, adding five assists for a team-best 78 points. She added 17 ground balls and three caused turnovers on the year. Glover leads the SAC in goals, ranking second in points. She ranks seventh in the nation in goals and 11th in goals per game. She scored her 73 goals in 135 shots, posting a .541 shot percentage. Her season included a WU-record 10 goals in the win at Tusculum, adding an eight-goal effort at Anderson.
Slayton adds first team All-Region honors to her first team All-SAC selection. The freshman did it all in her first season with the Bulldogs, collecting 32 goals, nine assists, 44 draw controls, 37 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers. She played a key role in a top-10 scoring offense and scoring defense, while also helping the 'Dogs lead the nation in draw control percentage. Slayton had multiple points in 10 of her last 12 games, while also notching multiple draw controls in nine of those contests.
Churns was another first team All-SAC honoree for one of the nation's top defenses. The senior piled up 45 caused turnovers on the year, adding 49 ground balls while also notching three goals and an assist. She ranked second in the SAC in caused turnovers and sixth in ground balls. Churns had multiple CTs in 13 of 20 games this season, notching five caused turnovers in back-to-back wins over Lander and Belmont Abbey, while piling up four CTs and five ground balls against Newberry. She also had three CTs and four ground balls against the Wolves in the SAC Tournament semifinals.
Jones adds second team All-Region honors to her all-conference recognition. She piled up 48 goals in her first season with the Bulldogs, adding 15 assists to compile 63 points while adding 13 draw controls, 21 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. She ranked second on the team in goals and fourth in points. Jones finished eighth in the conference in goals. Jones had multiple points in 18 of her 20 games, including six-point efforts in wins against Lee and Belmont Abbey. Jones had three goals and an assist against LR in the SAC title game, earning SAC Tournament MVP honors.
Pavlick has become one of the nation's top draw controls specialists. The sophomore piled up a program-record 162 draw controls, earning first team All-SAC accolades. She added four caused turnovers, two goals and an assist on the year. Thanks to Pavlick's efforts, the 'Dogs lead the nation in draw control percentage (.706) and rank third nationally in draw controls per game (17.50). She led the SAC and ranks fifth in the nation with 8.10 draw controls per game. She had double-digit draw controls five times, including a Wingate-record 21 at Tusculum, while also piling up 15 against LMU.
