Cleveland, Tenn.----The Wingate University women's golf team finished 11th overall in the City with Spirit Fall Classic, hosted by Lee University at the Cleveland Country Club. Competing with a four-player lineup, the Bulldogs shot their low tournament round with a 20-over-par final 18 holes.
 
Wingate compiled a 74-over-par total for the 54-hole tournament. Playing a player short placed an immediate premium on every scorecard. The team showed tremendous resilience against a challenging field.
 
Individual Highlights
 
Freshman Gabrielle Duhalde finished strong with a two-over-par 74 to complete three rounds at seven-over-par 223. Her second 74 in three rounds allowed her to climb into a stellar tied for 12th-place finish.
 
Sophomore Ines Marty shot a third-round 80 to finish 54-holes at 232, ultimately securing a tied for 35th-place finish for the tournament. She birdied the 18th hole during her third and final round.
 
Freshman Juana Milano bounced back in the middle rounds by catching a rhythm with two birdies to card a one-over-par second round, ultimately finishing tied for 44th after a five-over-par 77 closing loop.
 
Freshman Katie Kobera added a resilient third-round effort, carding her best 18 holes of the week at five-over-par 77. She posted two birdies during her third and final round.
 
Final Round Team Summary
 
The final 18 holes at Cleveland Country Club tested the entire field and Wingate's shorthanded squad dug deep to complete the 54-hole event. Led by Duhalde's impressive charge into the top 15 and steady contributions across the four-player roster, the team wrapped up its opening stretch of the fall season with valuable tournament experience and a solid foundation to build upon moving forward.
 
Up Next for the Bulldogs
 
Wingate will compete in the Savannah Lakes Invitational Monday and Tuesday, September 21-22. Lander University is hosting this event at the Monticello Golf Club in McCormick, South Carolina.
