Nick Siega-Riz was named the team’s MVP in the 2008 season. He led the team with 75 hits, 51 runs scored, 17 doubles, 128 total bases, six triples and 14 stolen bases. He was second on the team with eight homers, third with 35 RBI and a .540 slugging percentage and fifth with a .316 batting average.

Siega-Riz hit .305 for the Wingate in 2007. The Bulldog lead-off man had 68 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 30 RBI, 23 walks, eight HBP, 52 runs and a team-high 21 stolen bases.

Siega-Riz had a solid freshman campaign in the blue-and-gold. Siega-Riz hit .278 with five home runs, seven doubles, 34 RBI and 32 runs scored. He also logged some innings on the hill in 2006. Siega-Riz was 1-1 with a 3.68 ERA in 7 1/3 innings. He also notched 10 strikeouts.

Siega-Riz attended West Forsyth High School, where he led the team to back-to-back conference regular season and tournament championships his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, he hit .390 with six home runs and 11 doubles. He stole 23 bases, helping West Forsyth compile a 20-10 overall record his final season. Nick is the son of Gene and Robin Siega-Riz.
