Biography

Richie Kazazian was voted to the pre-season All-SAC team for 2012. His teammates elected him a captain for his final season. In 2011, Kazazian had 70 tackles, third on the Wingate team defensive charts. Kazazian opened the 2011 campaign with 15 tackles (nine solo, six assists) against Valdosta State. He closed the season with 11 tackles at Tusculum. Kazazian recovered a team-best five fumbles in 2011. He returned one loose ball 66 yards for a touchdown at Lenoir-Rhyne. Kazazian had two fumble recoveries in a SAC home victory over Brevard. His 10 tackles for loss were third on the 2011 team.
 
In 2010, Kazazian had six tackles in two games for the SAC champion Bulldogs. He had three tackles each against West Georgia and Valdosta State. Kazazian had a QB hurry against the VSU Blazers. In 2009, Kazazian recorded 42 tackles and forced two fumbles. He added six tackles for loss. Kazazian had 11 tackles at Carson-Newman. He had seven stops in a victory over North Greenville. Kazazian recorded six tackles in a nationally-televised SAC road win over Tusculum.

In 2008, Kazazian had 12 tackles, including a season-high five stops in a victory at Saint Paul’s. He played in 11 of 11 games as a true freshman. As an Apex High School senior, he was team MVP, defensive player of the year and coaches commitment award winner for the Cougars. Kazazian was an All-Conference selection during his final campaign. He has had cousins play college football at Massachusetts-Amherst and Rutgers. Richie is the son of Rich and Gina Kazazian.
