Vince Jordan rushed 16 times for 65 yards against Valdosta State in Wingate’s 2011 season opener. He missed the remainder of the season with a knee injury. Wingate’s athletic training department gave Jordan the inaugural Wounded Bulldog Award for his tenacious hard work during his rehabilitation. Jordan received a medical redshirt for the 2010 season. In two 2010 games (West Georgia, Valdosta State), he rushed 22 times for 55 yards.
In 2009, Jordan recorded 967 yards rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore. A first team All-SAC selection, Jordan averaged 6.2 yards per carry. In Wingate’s 2009 opener, Jordan rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns in the victory over West Georgia. He rushed for 150 yards and two TDs in a 42-17 SAC road victory over Catawba. In the Mars Hill contest, he recorded 123 yards and two scores in a season-ending triumph. Jordan had 1,068 all-purpose yards in 2009. In 2008, Jordan carried 10 times for 101 yards and three touchdowns. He had touchdown runs versus Brevard, Carson-Newman and Mars Hill. Jordan’s long run was a 40-yard jaunt against the C-N Eagles. On special teams, Jordan posted seven tackles.
At West Montgomery High, Jordan was a member of the football, wrestling and track teams. He played football for head coach
Elbert Thomas. Jordan played in the Shrine Bowl following an illustrious career at WMHS. An All-State performer, he was the N.C. 1A state championship game outstanding offensive player his final season. Jordan earned All-Conference honors as a running back and a punter his senior campaign, while also serving as a team captain. As a junior, he was one of only two players in Warrior school history to lead the team in rushing and tackles. Vince is the son of
