Biography

Ty Kennedy did not play in 2011, as he utilized a redshirt season. At South Lenoir, Kennedy was a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams. On the gridiron, he led the team in receptions, rushing yards, total yards (2013) and touchdowns (14) as a senior. South Lenoir’s football MVP, Kennedy was named all-conference, all-county, all-area and all-state following his senior campaign. He broke South Lenoir’s career receptions record. Kennedy served as a captain for both the football and basketball teams. He helped lead the Blue Devils baseball team to league and section titles. A member of the SLHS National Honor Society, Ty is the son of Johnny and Marilyn Kennedy.
