Biography

Derrick McCrae saw action in three games for the 2011 Bulldogs. He notched a QB hurry against Valdosta State. McCrae posted two tackles against Albany State. He also played in Wingate’s wild come-from-behind victory at UNC Pembroke. McCrae was a redshirt freshman on Wingate’s 2010 SAC championship team, as the Bulldogs won the school’s first league football title.

McCrae is very involved with Campus Outreach at Wingate. At South Iredell, McCrae played football four years for head coach J.K. Adkins. McCrae was an All-Conference and All-County performer for the Vikings. In addition, he was a shot putter for the South Iredell track and field team for three years. McCrae won the French Department Award while at South Iredell. Derrick is the son of Rodney and Ronda McCrae.
