Andrew Nallenweg was Wingate’s top rusher in 2011, posting 415 yards on 126 carries. He had two touchdowns in victories over Brevard and Newberry. Nallenweg had a season-best 62 yards against Albany State. He was Wingate’s fourth-leading receiver with 34 catches for 329 TDs and two scores. Nallenweg’s receiving touchdowns came in triumphs over Carson-Newman and Catawba. He caught seven passes against North Greenville and made six grabs against Valdosta State.
 
In 2010, Nallenweg rushed for 142 yards in 12 games. He also caught six passes for 50 yards and returned one kick for 14 yards. On special teams, Nallenweg recorded 18 tackles on the season. His stellar blocking helped Nelson Woods (’11) rush for 1000 yards for the third time in his career. In 2009, Nallenweg recorded a timely reception for a 22-yard gain in a big SAC road victory at Catawba (Oct. 24, 2009).

Nallenweg was a member of the football, basketball and track teams at C.A. Erwin High School. He was selected as a member of the N.C. Shrine Bowl football team. The league defensive Player of the Year as a senior, Nallenweg recorded 82 tackles in his final season. He posted 230 career tackles during his three-year varsity career. Nallenweg was All-Conference in football three years in a row, earning All-Western N.C. honors after his senior season. In track, he was team MVP as a senior and most valuable thrower following his sophomore and junior seasons. A two-year All-Conference performer in track, Nallenweg won the regional shot put and discus title as a senior. He helped the Erwin basketball team win the conference title. Andrew Nallenweg is the son of Rich and Ronda Nallenweg. A three-time SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient, Andrew participated in Wingate’s W’International program during May of 2012.
