Biography

Ernest Ruffin did not play in 2011, as he utilized a redshirt season. Ruffin recorded 53 pancake blocks throughout his career at Mooresville High School. Co-captain Ruffin and his Blue Devil teammates helped brand new head coach Hal Capps take a team from zero wins (2009) to eight victories and an N.C. play-off berth (2010). Ruffin participated in the All-American Bowl Game in Kings Mountain, N.C. Ernest is the son of Ernest Ruffin, Jr. and Gina Ruffin. His father played basketball at Bloomfield (N.J.) College. Ernest Ruffin, Jr. is a member of Bloomfield’s Sports Hall of Fame.
