Personal: Mackenzie Battle was a three-year varsity football captain for head coach Kent Haltiwanger at Wade Hampton High School. He was the team’s defensive MVP and leading tackler three years in a row. Battle was an all-county and all-conference linebacker two years each. WHHS won the regional football championship his senior year. Battle is Wade Hampton’s all-time leading tackler with 452 total stops. He was an all-county and all-conference track and field performer (shot put). An A/B Honor Roll student, Mackenzie is the son of Michael and Beverly Battle.
