Biography

Ernest Bridges will play the 2013 season as a graduate student. In 2012, Bridges had 33 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 3.5 QB sacks. He saved the best for last, recording a career-high 11 stops (five solo) in a season-ending home win over Tusculum (Nov. 10). He had five tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in the TC triumph.

Bridges did not play in 2011. He recorded eight tackles in 10 games during the 2010 season. Bridges had two tackles for loss and 1.5 QB sacks. He had two stops in the SAC regular season championship-clinching victory at Newberry. The next week, he posted two tackles in the NCAA play-off triumph over Morehouse. In the 2009 season, he one tackle in a home victory over Newberry.

Bridges spent the 2008 season as a redshirt. An honors graduate at West Stanly, Bridges played football and track for head coach Rich Williams. Bridges was All-Conference and All-County two years each, earning a spot in the Shrine Bowl following his senior campaign. He had 29 sacks his final two seasons for the Colts. West Stanly advanced to the state play-offs his junior and senior years. He is the son of Ernest and Cordovan Bridges.
