Biography

Will Poteat helped the Bulldogs pick up a 33-21 SAC home victory over Carson-Newman on Oct. 1, 2011. A two-time SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll student, Poteat also saw time in Wingate’s 2011 triumph over Newberry. The Capital One Academic All-America® candidate did not play in 2010, as he spent the SAC championship campaign as a redshirt. Poteat was a two-sport athlete at West Lincoln High School, lettering in football and track. His football coach was Mark Latham. Poteat was named to the all-conference team during his junior and senior seasons. Will is the son of Woody and Jane Poteat.
