Biography

Phillip Staples saw action in two games for the 2012 Bulldogs. He had two punt returns for 19 yards (long return of 17) in a home victory over nationally-ranked Albany State (Sept. 8). He also notched a special teams tackle against Golden Rams. Staples had three punt returns in his collegiate debut versus Saint Augustine’s (Sept. 1). Staples was a member of the football and basketball teams at Henry County High School. He helped the Warhawks make a state football play-off appearance his senior season. Phillip is the son of Warren and Robin Staples.
