Biography

Jay Willis returns to the Wingate team after a one-year absence. In 2011, he saw time in nine games. Willis had four tackles, notching stops in victories over Carson-Newman and Newberry. He did not play in 2010, taking a redshirt season during Wingate’s SAC championship run. Willis played his prep football at Mooresville High School. He was named to the all-county football team. As a senior, Willis had 483 receiving yards on 46 catches. He is the son of Stephanie Willis.
