Personal: Hathaway joined the Bulldog family as transfer from Murray State, where he was named to the FCS Freshman All-American second team as a free safety. At Smyrna High, Hathaway played for head coach Matt Williams. A two-time all-state, all-region and all-district selection for the SHS Bulldogs, Hathaway was named to the all-state first team as a senior by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association. He completed his senior season with 98 tackles, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and an interception. Smyrna advanced to the 2010 state title game as Hathaway posted 99 tackles and four interceptions. A member of the Tennessee Dream Team, he was selected as the MVP of the Tennessee East-West All Star Game. Brandon is the son of Heather Battle.
