2016: Chris Boykins was named to the Academic All-Super Region 2 team, selected by CoSIDA…Appeared in 11 of 11 games for the Bulldogs…Posted 12 tackles (five solo, seven assists) along with a tackle for loss…Logged a season-high four tackles (three solo) against Brevard…Recorded three tackles each in games against Shaw and Catawba…Mentioned on the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll…

Personal: Chris Boykins earned a state championship ring at Shelby his senior season. In addition, he was elected a team captain by his peers. Boykins was voted to the All-South Mountain Athletic Conference team. He earned varsity letters in track and field and wrestling as well. A solid student, Boykins was a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club at Shelby. His uncle (Jerry Ratchford) is a member of the WU Sports Hall of Fame. Chris is the son of J.Q. and Nataja Boykins.
