2016: Earned degree at Wingate’s May Commencement Exercises…
 
2015: Cornel Cheron recorded a total of 39 tackles (28 solo, 11 assists) on the season…Added a tackle for a loss against Mars Hill…Had two forced fumbles as well as a fumble recovery in the victory over Shaw…Solid year in the secondary with two interceptions and eight pass break-ups…

2014: Cheron returned a fumble 20 yards for a touchdown in a big SAC win at Brevard…Recorded six tackles (with four solo stops) at North Greenville…Posted pass break-ups in victories over Brevard and UNC Pembroke…Had five tackles each against Newberry and Mars Hill…Saw time in 10 of 11 games…

2013: Saw time in seven games…Posted eight tackles, including three at Mars Hill…Recorded two tackles in a wild come-from-behind SAC victory at Catawba…

Personal: Cornel Cheron played three sports at Felix Varela (football, basketball and track). In football, he was a Dade County All-Star. Cheron was named Felix Varela’s defensive back MVP. In basketball, he was the team’s MVP. A respected leader, Cheron was team captain in both football and basketball. Cornel is the son of Cornel and Huguette Cheron.
