Personal: Kyle Johnson was a two-time all-conference selection for Hickory High. He was team captain and team MVP as a senior. In his final two years, Johnson compiled 3014 passing yards and 27 touchdown passes. A standout baseball player, Johnson was an all-conference pick on the diamond following his junior season. Johnson is the fourth brother in his family to play college football. Tyler played four seasons at linebacker for the Bulldogs. Austin played linebacker at the University of Tennessee, while brother Clay played offensive line at Elon University. Kyle is the son of Mike and Carman Johnson.
