2016: Cameron Mattison started 11 of 11 games for the Bulldogs…Recorded 37 tackles (20 solo, 17 assists) on the season…Collected a season-high five tackles in a wild 42-39 victory over Mars Hill…Posted three tackles each tackles against Brevard and Catawba…Two tackles each against Limestone, Lenoir-Rhyne and Newberry…Credited with an interception which turned into a 90-yard touchdown against Shaw…Interceptions against Tusculum and Newberry as well… Had eight pass break-ups on the season…Looks to build on his successes for the 2017 season…

Personal: Cameron Mattison helped Mallard Creek High School and head coach Mike Palmieri win two state championships (2013, 2014). A Maverick team captain, Mattison was a two-time All-State and all-conference choice. He played in the Shrine Bowl following his senior year. Mattison also earned two letters in track (for head coach Aaron Brand) as a sprinter. He joined the Bulldog family as a transfer from the University of Toledo. Cameron is the son of Ronald and Trish Mattison.
