2016-17: Alex Divelbiss was the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimmer of the Year for women’s swimming…Received BMC Swimmer of the Meet honors in the 19th annual BMC championship meet…Swam the anchor leg as the Wingate 800 Freestyle Relay team won a 2017 NCAA Division II national championship with a time of 7:16.37 at the Birmingham (Ala.) CrossPlex… Won one gold medal, four silver medals and one bronze medal at the NCAAs, posting seven All-American swims…In the 2017 BMC event, Divelbiss won three individual races and two relay swims…Won the 100 Freestyle (50.28) and the 400 Freestyle Relay (anchor leg, 3:22.65) on the final night…Named CSCAA Scholar All-American for her achievements in the classroom and the pool…
Prior to Wingate: Alex Divelbiss joined the Bulldogs as a transfer from Adams State (Colo.) University. During the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships, she posted personal-best times in the 50 Freestyle (24.21, fifth) and the 100 Freestyle (51.16, second). She went on to qualify for the NCAA championships, claiming 16th overall (and honorable mention All-American laurels) in the 200 IM (2:03.85). Alex is the daughter of Michael and Susanne Divelbiss.
